Soft bed linens in various materials

When it comes to bed linens, there is a wide range of materials to choose from. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages, and it is important to select the one that best suits your needs. Cotton is a popular choice due to its soft feel and breathability, while satin offers a luxurious and glossy look. Linen is a more natural option that is lightweight and gives the bed a crisp feel. We have bed linens in various materials including: Cotton, linen, satin, flannel, and silk.

When choosing bed linens

Satin

Weaving technique: Satin weave (4 threads over, 1 under)
Material: Usually cotton, sometimes silk or polyester.
Feel: Smooth, soft, and shiny on one side.
Properties: Luxurious luster and silky feel.
Less breathable than percale → feels warm.
Wrinkles less.
Suitable for those who like a soft, elegant, and warm feel.
Perfect for: Cold nights, hotel feel, and exclusive bed linens.

Percale

Weaving technique: Plain weave (1 thread over, 1 under)
Material: Typically 100% cotton.
Feel: Crisp, matte, and cool.
Properties: Very good breathability.
Holds its shape and feels "newly washed" for a long time.
Wrinkles more easily than satin.
Durable and sturdy fabric.
Perfect for: Warmer climates, those who sweat easily, and anyone who enjoys a fresh, cool feel.

Bamboo

Material: Made from bamboo fibers (cellulose-based material).
Weaving technique: Can be either satin or percale woven.
Feel: Extremely soft and smooth, resembles silk.
Properties: Naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic.
Temperature regulating – cool in the summer, warm in the winter.
Very good moisture transport.
More environmentally friendly than regular cotton (depending on manufacturing method).
Perfect for: Allergy sufferers, the environmentally conscious, and anyone looking for a soft, cool, and natural fabric.

Twill

Weaving technique: Diagonal weave (the threads run diagonally in the fabric).
Material: Usually cotton, sometimes blended with linen or polyester.
Feel: Soft but denser and sturdier than percale.
Properties: Visible diagonal structure (e.g., like jeans).
Durable and resilient fabric that drapes nicely.
Wrinkles less than percale.
Somewhat heavier and warmer.
Perfect for: Those who want durable yet soft sheets or duvet covers with a bit more weight.

Jacquard

Weaving technique: Woven with patterns directly into the fabric (not printed).
Material: Often cotton, but may also contain silk or polyester.
Feel: Elegant, structured, and luxurious.
Properties:The pattern is woven in with special weaving techniques (Jacquard loom).
Very durable and shape-stable.
Provides an exclusive, three-dimensional appearance.
Less airy than percale, but more decorative.
Perfect for: Hotel feel, decoration, bedspreads, and luxurious patterned bed linens.

Stylish bed linens in various colors and patterns

The fun thing about bed linens is that they come in a variety of colors and patterns to choose from. Feel free to buy several sets in different designs so that you can vary according to the season. In spring and summer, light bed linens may be nice while darker bed linens usually fit better in autumn and winter. Also consider the other colors in the bedroom. If your walls and furniture have a more neutral tone, a patterned duvet cover can be an excellent way to add a pop of color to your bedroom. On the other hand, if your decor already has a lot of patterns, it may be better to choose a solid colored duvet cover to avoid an overload of patterns.

Patterns can also affect the feel of the room. If you want a calm and relaxed atmosphere, a duvet cover with soft shapes and pastel colors might be an excellent choice. For a more vibrant atmosphere, a duvet cover with strong colors and geometric patterns can energize the room. Some popular patterns include floral bed linens, checkered bed linens, and striped bed linens.
